WHAT WE DO

Here's a little bit about who we are, our mission and goals with the club, how we started, and who contributed to starting the Women's Outdoor Leadership Initiative.

Our Mission

We aim to create a community of self identifying women on campus to support, inspire, & empower each other while gaining leadership skills, confidence, and safety in the outdoors.

Vision

To foster real change in our community so that upon graduation, our members will have the leadership ability to generate a difference in their respective communities.

Our Story:
How Did WOLI Start

"The journey of WOLI begins back in 2021 when I went on a semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). From this, I had a dream to create a space where we could create a community of badass women that could support each other in gaining competence and mastery of technical outdoor skills. I dreamed of creating a generation of female outdoor leaders that could inspire more and more girls to harness their strengths (and weaknesses), and come together in bridging the gender divide within the outdoors...Words can’t really express how much of my heart and joy lie in this group. I can’t wait to watch where it goes in the future and to see all the lives that they continue to change. Thanks to everyone for the most amazing two years!"
